  • 400 g of stale bread
  • 200 g of freshly grated Appenzeller Räss cheese
  • 200 mL of milk
  • 0.5 dl of cream
  • 3 tbs of cooking butter or cooking cream

Preparation

  1. Dice the bread. Layer with the grated cheese in a bowl.
  2. Pour on the milk and cream and allow to stand for an hour. The bread should be wet, but not mushy. Heat up the butter and fry the bread until crisp, turning it frequently.
